INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM
On October 6, 2010, the AANCC was honored and invited to attend an Internatrional Business Forum on the Republic of Senegal held in
Washington DC and hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Senegal, the Senegalese Business Movement (MEDS) in partnership with the
U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AfriBiz.
MEDS is the Movement of the Enterprises, an organization devoted to responsibily conduct all
studies and measures for the common good of the Senegalese business community.
Therefore, MEDS mission is to:
• Define and communicate
the views of entrepreneurs on issues relating directly or indirectly to businesses, allowing them to benefit from a legal and regulatory
framework;
• Promote entrepreneurship and its dissemination in all parts of the society;
• Encourage more entrepreneurs, dynamism,
success and progress of management in a global economy;
• Express the desire for progress of contractors and beliefs derived from
their national and international experiences on the general conditions of economic and social progress;
• Contribute to a constructive
social dialogue in companies and their professional organizations;
• Work toward the adaptation of different systems of social, economic
and demographic protections
Following a MEDS request, a Business Partnership Convention was signed between both organizations respectively
represented by their Presidents; Mr. Mbagnick Diop of MEDS and Mr. Anthony A. L. Adjasse of AANCC, in terms of collaborative and cooperative
business synergies to undertake together, the different challenges facing the development of the Republic of Senegal.

Minister of State and Minister of Labour; H.E. Dr. Serigne Mamadou Bousso Leye, Minister of Culture and Mr. Stephen Hayes, H.E. Mrs.
Fatou Danielle Diagne, Ambassador of the Republic of Sdenegal to the Uinted States - Washington D.C. and Mr. Stephen Hayes, President
of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) attended the symposium. Also, several corporations and organizations from the American business
community as well as from the Republic of Senegal were part of the event.
